TV stardom
On our way to post-lunch coffee today, Aaron, Andy and I were stopped by someone who wants to be our agent and put us on television. She said that she will take us to some beautiful, exotic, Chinese location, dress us in traditional clothing, and we will be on commercials, etc. I guess I shouldn't be surprised-- the foreigners on TV here are pretty average by American TV standards, appearing in commercials mostly for travel in China. (You should see the Guilin ad guy--cheesy fake smile) We've been instructed to email her some photos of ourselves without our glasses on. And since Andy speaks good Chinese, she's promised him something "important."
I have lots to blog about-- I've had some interesting experiences in Hangzhou in the past two weeks. But I'm teaching four lectures in String Theory starting tomorrow so the blog will have to wait. (Its funny how as soon as I have a big project I have to work on, I suddenly get motivated to do everything else) I promise you lots of photos and stories next Wednesday!
In the meantime, if you would like a post card from China, email me your mailing address (even if you think I already have it).
